Ingredients:
1 large ripe Anjou pear
Scant 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
Generous 1/2 cup ice-cold water
Honey, to taste
Decoration:
Raspberries on a cocktail stick
Steps:
1. Peel the pear & cut into fourths, removing the core. Put into a food processor or blender with the raspberries & water & process until smooth.
2. Taste & sweeten with honey if the raspberries are a little sharp.
3. Pour into a glass & decorate with whole raspberries on a cocitail stick & serve.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup whole milk or soy milk
1 TBSP plain yogurt
1/2 TBSP maple syrup
1/4 peeled & sliced banana
1/4 stoned, peeled & chopped peach
1 1/2 hulled strawberries
Steps:
1. Place all the ingredients in a blender or food processor & process until combined & frothy.
2. Pour into a glass & serve immediately.

Ingredients:
Scant 1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup peach yogurt
Scant 1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup canned peach slices, drained
3 ice cubes, crushed
Decoration:
Strips of orange peel
Steps:
1. Pour the milk, yogurt & orange juice into a food processor or blender & process gently until combined.
2. Add the peach slices & ice cubes & process until smooth. Pour the mixture into a glass & decorate with strips of orange peel.

Ingredients:
3/4 cup orange juice
1/2 banana, sliced & frozen
1 1/2 cups frozen forest fruits (such as blueberries, raspberries & blackberries)
Decoration:
A slice of fresh orange
Steps:
1. Pour the orange juice into a food processor or blender. Add the banana & half of the forest fruits & process until smooth.
2. Add the remaining forest fruits & process until smooth. Pour the mixture into a tall glass & decorate the rim with a slice of fresh orange.
3. Add a straw & serve.

Serves 1-2
Ingredients:
1/6 cup raspberries
1/4 cup strawberries, halved
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 TSP almond extract (optional)
1-1 1/2 TBSP honey, to taste
Steps:
1. Press the raspberries through a nylon strainer into a bowl using the back of a spoon. Discard the seeds in the strainer.
2. Put the raspberry puree, strawberries, yogurt, milk & almond extract, if using, into a food processor or blender & process until smooth & combined.
3. Pour the smoothie into a chilled glasses, stir in honey to taste & serve.

1/8 cup strawberries, hulled
Juice of 2 oranges
Sugar, to taste
Decoration:

1. Put the apple, strawberries & orange juice into a food processor or blender & process until smooth.
2. Taste & sweeten with sugar, if necessary.
3. Decorate with a slice of apple & serve at once.

Scant 1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup fresh raspberries
1/2 TBSP lemon juice
Decoration:
A slice & a spiral of fresh lemon or orange
Steps:
1. Put the cranberry juice & orange juice into a food processor or blender & process gently until combines. Add the raspberries & lemon juice & process until smooth.
2. Pour the mixture into a glass & decorate with a slice & a spiral of fresh lemon or orange. Serve at once.

Serves 4
Ingredients:
2 red peppers
2 green peppers
2 beefsteak tomatoes, skinned
5 tbsp olive oil
2 large onions, sliced
3 cloves garlic, finely sliced
4 small garlic sausages
Steps:
1. Cut the peppers in half & remove & discard the stems, cores & seeds.
2. Finely slice the tomatoes.
3. Heat the oil in a large, heavy-based pan over a medium heat & add the onions & peppers & cook for about 5 minutes, until softened, stirring frequently.
4. Add the garlic & cook for 2 minutes, stirring.
5. Slice the garlic sausages, add to the pan & stir to mix.
6. Cover & simmer for about 35 minutes, until the vegetables & garlic sausage slices are tender.
7. Serve hot.
Serving suggestion:
Serve with hunks of wholemeal bread & a mixed leaf salad.
Variations:
1. Use chorizo sausage in place of garlic sausages.
2. Remove the casing & crumble the sausage into the pan before cooking.
3. Stir 2 tbsp sour cream into the letscho & allow to heat through gently without boiling before serving.

Ingredients:
3/4 cup cranberries, thawed if frozen
Scant 1/2 cup cranberry juice, chilled
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2-3/4 TBSP honey
Steps:
1. Place the cranberries & the cranberry juice into a food processor or blender & process until smooth. Add the yogurt & 1/2 tablespoon of honey & process again until combined. Taste & add more honey, if necessary.
2. Pour into a chilled glass & serve.
